Not to excuse it , but to explain it. They live their whole lives, in some parts, secretly, always subservient... never really ever feeling respected...for some, it's too much to take and something pushes them over the top.. especially if they feel sleighted by somebody they secretly feel superior towards...in many cases LATINOS secretly feel superior to Anglos...plus some Latino cultures are "macho" oriented, and so, if a woman insults the man, the man feels justified in physically 'punishing' the woman.
