I survived it! 6.19.25 "Storms cause outages, damage, tornado warnings in Philly region "– NBC10 Philadelphia

The weather was fine but very warm and humid when I went into the windowless Walmart in the suburbs of Philadelphia to pick up some transmission fluid. After purchasing my items I came out and I saw everybody standing by the door not leaving and I was wondering what's going on and I looked and somebody opened the door and the wind rushed in like a tornado and the rain was coming down in torrents! it was unbelievable. And I had left my windows cracked a little bit. So I had to run as fast as I can to my car and close the windows. The hard rain had already created little rivers in the parking lot.  Fortunately no tree or branches had fallen by my car but there were a lot of branches down all around greater Philadelphia area  And there was also a lot of water already in my car just from the little crack I had left in my window. I quickly dried everything off and closed the windows and waited for the rain to subside. it didn't last long fortunately,  but the damage was done- mostly just branches down. I didn't see major damage but there were a few traffic lights that were not working as well . I think I did hear those tornado sirens that are spoken about below not very close but in the distance. Apparently no actual tornadoes emerged, only high winds.

"Severe storms hit the Philadelphia region on Thursday, June 19, 2025, causing widespread damage, power outages, and tornado warnings.
Nearly 300,000 PECO customers were left without power, and the utility company warned it could take several days to fully restore electricity.
The storms brought strong winds, heavy rain, hail, and even flipped an unoccupied small plane at Northeast Philadelphia Airport.

Key impacts of the storm include:

Tornado Warnings: Warnings were issued for Chester County and Delaware County in Pennsylvania and New Castle County in Delaware, but were later canceled.
Tree Damage: Strong winds brought down numerous trees, including one that injured a teen in East Oak Lane.
Roads like Concord Road in Westtown Township were blocked by fallen trees.
Structural Damage: The roof of One Bala Plaza, home to 93.3 WMMR radio station, was damaged, with debris scattered in the parking lot.
Weather Conditions: Before the storm, temperatures reached 91°F, with a heat index of 98°F, followed by a dramatic cooldown and the start of summer on Friday.
The storms moved out late Thursday night, clearing the way for sunny and warm weather on Friday, June 20, 2025.
However, a heat wave is expected to begin over the weekend, with temperatures rising into the mid-90s by Saturday "
